Girish has seamlessly conveyed his artistic purpose through his diverse expressions of art. As an
artist, instructor, and motivator, he has carved out a unique space in the creative world by
communicating through his canvas. His repertoire includes a variety of techniques, from
brushwork to knife and bare finger painting. Since 2009, Girish Nair’s Studio of Visual Arts has
trained over 350 students across the United States and Canada through both virtual and in-house
sessions at his studio in Charlotte. Starting his artistic journey without formal education in art, he
has developed a keen understanding of student capabilities and limitations, helping them harness
their innate qualities. He achieves this by working on their mental and physical abilities,
eliminating fear, building confidence, and improving motor skills. His students see him as both
tutor and mentor, while he views the relationship as essential to his growth as an artist. To further
enhance his skills, he pursued formal training in impressionistic painting at the Florence
Academy of Art in Italy and the Dutch Atelier of Realist Art in the Netherlands, where he
immersed himself in intense workshops with masters of classical portraiture and figure painting.

Girish believes that learning and teaching are endless pursuits, but what truly nourishes his soul
are small acts of kindness. His desire to contribute to the welfare of others has always been a
central focus. Responding to his inner calling to support those in need has been integral to his
journey as an artist. From leading live painting shows and auctioning his work for noble causes
to founding Heartist World Inc., a non-profit organization, Girish continually seeks ways to align
his heart and mind. Heartist World (www.heartist.world), an online marketplace, is one of the
few student-run organizations promoting art by selling artwork for charity.

His dedication to using art as a tool for social causes was evident during the COVID-19
pandemic. He was selected for a Mecklenburg County initiative as one of three artists to create a
large window mural in a public space in Charlotte, aimed at educating the public on the
importance of staying vigilant against the virus.
